The Learn Amp team are delighted to share that Joe Hill-Wilson (currently Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder) will be taking over as CEO, with founder Duncan Cheatle handing over the reigns to become Executive Chairman.
Duncan says:
"As the founding CEO I have had the privilege of collaborating with an incredibly talented leadership and a wider team of dedicated professionals over the past eight years, as we focused on building products that empower our customers to maximise their employee lifetime value.
Now is the right time to hand over the reigns to Joe, who is exceptionally qualified for the task. He's been at the forefront of the business since the beginning, with deep understanding and expertise in the L&D industry, and with the full support and trust from our employees, customers, and partners.
As Executive Chairman, my focus will be on realizing our long-term vision and broader strategic initiatives.
Alongside our co-founding team of Matt Jeffries and Richard Larcombe and the rest of the leadership team, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Joe and know the business is in very good hands as we enter this exciting new phase of our journey."

About Joe
With a fifteen-year career in L&D, Joe was part of the founding team of four. He’s been the face of the business from the start, leading not just on sales but in developing our unique culture and approach to customer service.
Joe was a key advocate of our becoming a B Corp, the first of our kind globally, a move that showed our commitment to good governance and positive impact on planet, community and our people.
Joe says:
“Co-founding Learn Amp and being on our journey so far has no doubt been the highlight of my career. I'm humbled to now be taking over as CEO, to further amplify and build on the brilliant work done by Duncan. He will be continuing to support us in achieving our vision as Executive Chairman, with whom I look forward to still working closely.
Taking on the role at this exciting stage of our journey is an incredible opportunity and I’m thrilled to be leading such a passionate and talented team. As always we will work tirelessly to deliver for our customers and against our vision of aligning employees and organisations to grow better together.
2025 is an important year for our customers as they face challenges adapting to the great skills reshuffle, embedding AI into every day work practices and the heightened importance in proving L&D’s worth and ROI in challenging economic conditions.
Our product and incoming enhancements are perfectly placed to help meet these challenges.”
At the end of Learn Amp's first-year, lead industry analyst Craig Weiss declared it the best LXP in the world. Since then, in just eight years, we’ve focused on building out one of the most comprehensive and loved products in the industry. We’ve now been in Craig’s global Top 3 learning platforms for the past three years, supported by a “software with a service” approach which is hyper customer-centric to deliver the best possible partnership with the customers that we work with.
With such strong analyst and customer advocacy we’ve managed to combine high sales growth (up 42% on previous year) and remained profitable because we’ve not needed to invest as heavily in marketing as our closest competitors.
This approach on product and service above all has led to some of the highest net retention scores in the industry.
As well as multiple awards for our product and service we’ve proud to be a BCorp and named as one of the Hyer Impact Top 50 alongside the likes of Headspace and Patagonia.
